Mystery (PUA) Live Club Pick-Up Video

This video is a great example of the neg theory in action. Mystery approaches what can only be described as a hostile target; the target does absolutely everything she can to lower Mystery’s value.

Her body language is initially very rigid and solid, she seems to take a particular distaste to the way Mystery is dressed and gets upset when Mystery doesn’t explain why he is dressed the way he is. “I’m changing the subject. Do I have to answer every question you ask? Who the hell are you missy?” replies Mystery. The target takes offence to this and responds “I’m Sarah fu**ing Garrett”. Mystery extends his hand “Nice to meet you Sarah Garret, I’m Mystery”.

Mystery then goes on to draw attention to her antagonistic attitude and declares that he “loves it”. This is particularly good as it leaves the target slightly bewildered. She obviously isn’t used to men responding in this way. The average Joe would take this as she wasn’t interested and would leave the set immediately.

Next Mystery performs an ESP test on the target. He asks her to picture the first letter of her middle name in her head. Mystery then writes down the initial on a piece of paper and shows it to her. The target is shocked and laughs, she loosens up and becomes more comfortable. She asks Mystery how he knew…he simply states that he “guessed”.

The use of the ESP test seems to be a turning point in the encounter. Mystery demonstrated higher value to the target, and he has now got her attention. This is visible in her body language and how she reacts to Mystery from this point in the video onwards.

Although the target is more responsive now, she still isn’t completely friendly and Mystery still has plenty of work to do if he wants to “close”. Mystery ploughs through offering more and more negs, at one point even calling her an asshole. At this point it’s Mystery who is controlling the encounter, the target is not insulting Mystery anymore and is somewhat in awe of him.

At one point Mystery turns his back on the target as if to walk away. The target calls his bluff “you’re not going to walk away”. Mystery returns “no but I’m going to sit away”. He takes a seat, forcing the target to then come join him.

“At some point in our rapport building you’re going to have to turn off the asshole and turn up the sweet princess inside you. I know you have got a little black heart but at the same time I’m sure there’s a diamond in it”. The target then starts to qualify herself to mystery “There is” She responds.

Mystery reveals a video camera and moves in for a successful kiss close.
